2026 Other Opportunities
Usually our artists apply with full 1 hour shows, but we know if you’re just getting started or have an idea that isn’t fully fleshed out you may still want to participate. Because of this, and in the efforts to help artists develop their talents and new works, we are expanding our ideas for group show opportunities this year! Some of these ideas are new or returning after some time away – so help us explore how to best make opportunities for you – our artists! We might require some patience, and feedback from you. But let’s have fun and give it a go!
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:
- Visual Art Group Show – Up to 3 pieces in person!
- Yinzer Variety Show – Any type of performance – 7 minutes or less!
- The 3rd Annual Choreographers’ Showcase – An opportunity for choreographers to showcase shorter pieces of work!
- Pittsburgh Fringe Presents: Story Club PGH – Get a chance to tell a story in this special collaboration with Story Club PGH!
Visual Art Group Show
Up to 3 pieces in person, displayed in the gallery at Mr. Roboto Project throughout the festival, March 19th-28th!
Submissions should be in by no later than Friday, March 13th!
All pieces will need to be dropped off at Fringe Central (5020 Penn Ave) on March 13th and 14th. We’ll send more details as it gets closer!
Yinzer Variety Show
Any type of performance – 7 minutes or less!
Saturday, March 21st at 10:00pm in the Bloomfield-Garfield Activity Center
The Yinzer Variety Show was created in 2022 as a way for Pittsburgh Fringe to dip back into producing live performances after the pandemic, as well as, a chance to showcase some of the talent that is in the Pittsburgh area you may not know about. As for the Fringe itself, this Edinburgh model fringe festival has been around for a total of 13 YEARS so far, and hopes to be around for years to come, continually showcasing and highlighting the works of independent artists from the PGH region and beyond.
We welcome all works in progress, half-baked stand-up routines, musical numbers, improv skits, dance pieces, monologues, you name it! You have something you want to perform or test out in front of an audience? Sign up, and you’re in! The limit is 7 minutes MAX, but 1 minute is great too! (This is on a first come first served basis, so if responses are overwhelming we will close applications.)
The 3rd Annual Choreographers’ Showcase
An opportunity for choreographers to showcase shorter pieces of work!
Saturday, March 28th at 3:00pm at Attack Theatre
The Choreographers’ Showcase is an opportunity for choreographers to showcase shorter pieces of work, up to 10 minutes. Sign up below!
Pittsburgh Fringe Presents: Story Club PGH
Get a chance to tell a story!
Tuesday, March 24th at 7:30pm at Attack Theatre
Our StorySlam is typically an open mic night for anyone to share a five-minute story based on one theme to audience members who appreciate a well-told tale. This year, we are thrilled to be collaborating with Story Club PGH, who will host the event in their usual style!
Pittsburgh Fringe Festival presents Story Club PGH, Pittsburgh’s premiere live storytelling show, where real people share real stories on stage. In 6 minutes, selected storytellers will have the opportunity to tell a story to a live audience in connection with the theme. The only requirement: it must be true and it must be your story to tell!
Newcomers and storytelling experts alike are more than welcome! Open mic participants sign up before the show and are chosen randomly during the show. Want to try your hand at storytelling? Get your ticket for the event here:
